Our herbal window farm

I finished putting together the windowfarm today. It wasn’t difficult. I should have finished it weeks ago, unfortunately I have more projects than time at the moment.

It took about two hours to put it together and get it working. Getting the air to pump all the way to the top was the biggest challenge. When I first turned on the air pump, the water in the reservoir was bubbling. It took a while before I was able to find where the air was leaking from, then more time to fix it. With a bit of adjusting the angles of the tubes and a bit more plumber’s tape I was able to get the water pumping up the tube full blast. Now I have a little herb garden, Thai basil, creeping thyme and oregano. The girls love it and want to bring it to their school’s science fair. Not bad for Kindergarteners!
